OUR STUDENTS!
"I wanted to let
you know how much more aware I am of my writing now. I've
been working on my prefixes and suffixes. This has been
quite a learning experience for me, a much needed shot in
the arm."
"Thanks for all your time and effort you all have put into
this course. I feel like I have learned a lot, and still
have a lot to learn. I'm anxious to continue with this
endeavor. I'd love to be a captioner!"
" I've really enjoyed this, and hope to get the chance to
actually work in captioning some day, hopefully sooner than
later. Thank you for all your help, time and effort you all
have put into this program."

CART IN THE ACADEMIC SETTING

CART
Reporting is Communication Access Realtime and is a
reasonable accommocation under the Americans with
Disabilities Act for deaf and hard-of-hearing persons.
The role of the CART Provider is to facilitate communication
between a student who is deaf or hard-of-hearing, the
instructor, and the student's classmates.
The CART Provider accompanies the student to each class and
writes stenographically what is being said, which is relayed
to a laptop screen immediately. This allows the student
complete access to the class session…instantly!
Rather than rely on note takers, or other non-verbatim
methods, the student is given verbatim text at the
conclusion of the class lecture from which to study.
The CART Provider works with each instructor to prepare for
all course-specific terminology in advance of the class.
This ensures the accuracy of the translation.
EduCaption CART providers can be on-site in certain
locations, relay lectures remotely over phone lines, or via
the Web, depending upon the needs of the student. Contact us
today!
Fees upon request.
